How we made the site for the aviation museum in Switzerland
Problem
The sphere of museum services is traditionally perceived as something outdated, dusty and conservative. And only researchers or fans are interested in aviation. Unfortunately, the existing sites of museums only complicate the situation due to uninformative and complex content, incomprehensible interface and boring design.
Situation
The Swiss Aviation Museum is a space for flying aviation at the Altenrhein airfield in the canton of St. Petersburg, Gallen. The Fliegermuseum preserves historical, modern and civil aircraft from Swiss aviation.
All exhibits are part of the airshow and active flights. In addition to the demonstration, the museum acts as a training center for pilots and maintenance of aircraft for various purposes.
Despite the interesting presentation and interactivity, visitors were repelled by the outdated site. The diverse experience of our agency attracted the attention of the museum, so we became a team that helped the project to reach a new level.
Task
The museum contacted us with a request to develop a functional and useful website for the company, which:
will convey the uniqueness of the project
01
will tell you about the history of Swiss aviation and all the aircraft presented in the museum
02
attract new visitors through design and interesting content
03
Solution and implementation
Already at the first meeting, together with the customer, we discussed the fundamental ideas that formed the basis of the new site. We have taken into account all the preferences and specifics of the content.
The museum had its own style and history, so we did not "break" the design. We were faced with the task of improving it, making it more attractive and understandable even for those users who are not familiar with aviation. The solution was dynamic, lively design.
For the development of the site, the formal description languages HTML, CSS, the JavaScript programming language and its individual libraries were used. These tools made it possible to develop a website that not only tells about the project, but also pushes you to quickly make a decision to visit the museum.
Result
As a result, we have got a simple but lively “business card” of the company. Blocks are animated, and illustrations set the right tone for the content. All information blocks are written "in the language of the reader", do not strain with heavy terminology and immerse you in the atmosphere of Swiss aviation.
To make the site not only useful, but also a seller, we have added an application form where anyone can sign up for performances and air shows.
